Rounds 6 & 7 - Knockhill 31st May / 1st June 2003

There are nice views if you've got time to
look when racing at KnockhillFor many the long trek north to Knockhill was too far, however six drivers did make the journey for rounds six and seven. Those that did experienced one of the most physical circuits in the UK which is a real roller coaster ride and they provided two tense races despite their small numbers. Two race wins went to Tim Lewis but he was harried all the way by Andy Thompson's Minari. Westley Evans scored two class wins over Paul and Steve Bessant (who were sharing one of the Avon Racing Alfa 75's) despite various transmission related maladies and a class win apiece went to Roger Donnan and Bryn Griffiths.

Roger Donnan's damaged cylinder headHero of the weekend was Roger Donnan whose engine dropped a valve in testing on the Friday before the race. He tracked a spare engine down in Dundee and had it fitted with seconds to spare before qualifying Saturday morning. The reason for Bryn Griffiths DNF in race two is too embarrassing to repeat, suffice to say his turbodiesel is not as economical on fuel as he imagined!
